Printer prints document first time
Experts baffled
A printer, located in a non-descript office block in South London, has printed a document, error-free.
The HP M5035x A3 Mono Laser Printer, owned by Croydon City Council, caused mass confusion in the office, after the printing job required no changed settings, colour adjustment, or witch’s incantation before it printed the document correctly.
“I was shocked,” explained Deborah Edwards, the office manager responsible for the printing job.
“At first I thought it must have been a mistake. Like every printer on the planet, it’s never actually printed a document the way it was supposed to.
“I just stared at it, trying to figure out what was wrong, but there was nothing. It was exactly how it was supposed to turn out.”
The news has sent shockwaves through the office printer industry, with many experts making the pilgrimage to Croydon to see the printer’s work first-hand.
“I never thought in my career I would see such an event,” explained printer expert Hugh Barrett.
“In the world of office printing, this is on par with the emaculate conception.”
The news also comes as a blow to the printer industry, which has spent years developing ever more expensive printers, specifically designed to waste paper and ink on a colossal scale.
A spokesperson for HP refused to be interviewed, however they did confirm they were looking into the case after a matter of urgency, describing it as an incident that “defied the laws of printing physics.”
